Thanks to the rise of online meetings, international travel for work is now reserved for times when its absolutely necessary. However not everyone travels well for work. Spindrift Director Jody has worked extensively overseas on a wide range of projects and is a confident traveller, accomplished communicator and adept at problem solving to keep projects moving. Working as part of an international project team means you need to be flexible, creative and sometimes willing to just pitch in (like driving to Ikea in Kuwait to buy duvets for staff arriving after the accommodation wasn't fully furnished!) So far we've worked in... India, Croatia, Albania, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, Lebanon and Dubai, and we'd like to extend our list!
Kuwait Zoning Code
The Kuwait Zoning Code was the first to use the DPZ Form-Based Code model outside the US. Spindrift prepared the coastal overlay of the code, which included extensive research legal and physical research.
Kuwait Western Sub Region
We have spent a lot of time 'thinking big'. Spindrift have worked on two sub regional plans in Kuwait, which focus on strategic networks and frameworks for more detailed individual development projects.
Abu Dhabi Plan Maritime 2030
Spindrift led the research, master planning and policy development for the leisure marine element of this plan, based on the principles of Marine Spatial Planning (MSP). Including board sports, yachts and dhows, fishing, superyachts & cruising.
